City Favourite For Agfa Glory

Detroit City has been installed the 4-9 favourite for Saturday's Agfa UK Hurdle at Sandown.

Irish firm Cashmans make Philip Hobbs' stable star the market leader with Harchibald and Straw Bear next best on 7-2.

And Hobbs is hoping the 2006 Triumph Hurdle winner will defy the historically poor record of five-year-olds in the Smurfit Kappa Champion Hurdle.

'I hope that because he is just a five-year-old that he is still improving, whereas we know the level of the other Champion Hurdle horses,' he said.

'I haven't seen the entries (for Saturday) but the main thing is to get a run into him before Cheltenham.

'A small field and lack of pace isn't really a concern as he can make the running or come from behind.'
