Lorna Fowler is looking forward to Colonel Mustard contesting the Grade 1 Tattersalls Ireland Novice Hurdle at the Dublin Racing Festival.

The seven-year-old gelding was a creditable second behind the impressive Jonbon in a Grade 2 novice hurdle at Ascot before Christmas.

Colonel Mustard's previous crack at top-level company saw him chase home Echoes In Rain in the Grade 1 novice hurdle at last year's Punchestown Festival.

Fowler said: “I’m very happy with him and he seems to have come out of Ascot in good form.

“The plan is very much on course for Leopardstown (on Sunday) as long as the ground is okay. As long as it is safe ground we’ll go ahead.”

Willie Mullins' Sir Gerhard heads the ante-post market for this €150,000 race over two miles, with Colonel Mustard available at 20/1.
