Conditions to suit Was at York Joseph O'Brien feels conditions will be perfect for Oaks winner Was in the Darley Yorkshire Oaks at York on Thursday. The Epsom heroine will be bidding to gain revenge on The Fugue, having finished third behind that rival in the Nassau Stakes at Glorious Goodwood last time. That race was over ten furlongs and O'Brien believes the longer trip now could make all the difference. "She will be right at home in the conditions. She showed in the Oaks what she wants is a mile and a half and fast ground," said Joseph O'Brien, son of trainer Aidan. "Since she won the Oaks she ran in soft ground at home and over 10 furlongs at Goodwood."
