Connections Ponder Cowboy Future Dual Grade One-winning hurdler Rhinestone Cowboy is likely to have one more run before connections make a decision about his future. It was widely accepted that the 10-year-old had been retired in the months following his defeat of Iris's Gift at the Punchestown Festival in 2004, but he made a surprise reappearance at Haydock last month. The outing did not go according to plan, however, with JP Magnier pulling his mount up after he got weary in the testing ground, and trainer Jonjo O'Neill is unsure how much longer he will be in training. He said: 'We will see how we go with him but he isn't the horse he was.'If you looked at him at home you would think he is flying, but he isn't quite as good as he was.'I wouldn't judge him on Haydock alone, though, as the ground was terrible. But he won't be dragged through the gutter and he owes us nothing.'He will have one more run and we will then decide what happens to him.'(C) PA Sport
