Cops an arresting sight in Pertemps Call The Cops finally gave Nicky Henderson something to cheer about when staying on strongly to win the Pertemps Final at Cheltenham. A winner at Doncaster only 12 days ago, the six-year-old looked well in under just a 5lb penalty. Andrew Tinkler looked confident throughout, always just behind the first half dozen, and he bounced off the good ground. Brother Brian gave a bold sight and lead until approaching the last when Unique De Cotte and Henryville loomed alongside. Call The Cops was able to pick up on the flat, though, and the 9-1 chance won by a length and three-quarters. Unique De Cotte won the battle for second, with The Tourard Man third and Henryville fourth. Henderson said: "It's taken a couple of days, but we're very pleased. "The way it was going I thought something would come and nail us. For Matt Morgan who owns him this makes up for the way it's gone with Sign Of A Victory. I'm pleased for Andrew, he deserves it as he's been a star. "The penalty got him into the race and it's nice to see him come and do that. "We've hit the bar a few times, they're running well." Tinkler said: "It's a different atmosphere here to any other week of the year. It's been a long time between wins but we will celebrate tonight and enjoy it. "He's grown in confidence since Doncaster and he put it all to use today. It was a fantastic run. " Tinkler continued: "He proved at Doncaster that he stayed, so I was happy to keep him handy. Getting a position in a race like this is important and you need a horse to hold that position. "There were a couple of times he couldn't see his hurdles, but he executed them well and I could not have asked for a more willing or straightforward partner. "He really bounces off that good, sound surface."
