Cork's Sales and Marketing Manager Mary Kelly had been optimistic about the prospect of the fixture going ahead yesterday. Conditions had improved at the Mallow venue earlier this week but the latest rainfall has scuppered chances of the meeting going ahead. The feature race on the card was the Listed Heritage Stakes over eight and a half furlongs. As it stands Navan, on Sunday, will be the sole meeting in Ireland this weekend.
