Cross comes over for Galmoy At Fishers Cross is set to make his belated reappearance in the John Mulhern Galmoy Hurdle at Gowran Park on Thursday. The Rebecca Curtis-trained nine-year-old has suffered his fair share of problems since claiming Grade One prizes at Cheltenham and Aintree in the spring of 2013, but rounded off last season with a decent effort to finish fourth in the World Hurdle. He heads to Ireland for his first start since then, but Curtis has warned her charge is likely to improve significantly for the run. "I think he'll probably go to Ireland, all being well," said the Pembrokeshire trainer. "I'm happy with him at home, but he always tends to need his first run, so we'll see what happens. "He didn't come back to us until October and has had a few problems, so it will be good to get him back on the racecourse." He is likely to come up against Gordon Elliott's Grade One Leopardstown winner, Prince Of Scars. "It's a rematch between Prince of Scars and Martello Tower in the Galmoy, but our lad has come out of the race at Christmas well and we are hoping for another good show," Elliott told his BoyleSports blog. "We haven't done a whole lot of galloping with him, he's a big framed horse and he doesn't need a whole lot of tough work. He seems in great form and we're excited to run him on Thursday all being well."
