Crowd well up at Ballybrit With weather conditions more favourable than earlier in the week there was a first increase in crowd figure, at stage five of the Galway festival, when compared with a corresponding 2015 day. Friday evening's attendance was 27,093, well up from the 21,532 figure from twelve months back. With a huge Pick 6 roll-over pool of 727,244 Euros (32 winning units for a dividend of 15,908 Euros) the Tote aggregate was also up. The 2016 figure was 1,270,137 Euros as compared to last year's 668,254 Euro total. Meanwhile the bookmaker figure was back again - 1,626,663 Euros (2016), 1,920,224 Euros (2015). (AM & EM)
