Curragh improves but rain forecast The ground at the Curragh has improved slightly ahead of the final meeting of the year on Sunday but rain is forecast. The current going is good to yielding having been yielding yesterday. Heavy showers are forecast for today, however. Sunday's card is set to feature the Irish Cesarewitch plus three Listed contests in the Waterford Testimonial Stakes, Staffordstown Stud Stakes and Finale Stakes. The ground at Navan remains good, good to yielding ahead of this afternoon's card. The ground at Tramore is yielding ahead of tomorrow's meeting. Some showers are forecast this morning but it is set to be dry tomorrow. Punchestown race next Wednesday and Thursday and it is currently good, good to firm in places there. Heavy showers are forecast today. The course are using the winter track and finishing on the main straight.
