Amazing Star made it two from two for Irish trained runners at Wolverhampton today, the Denis Hogan trained gelding winning the Ladbrokes Handicap under Ben Curtis (Star Links won earlier on the card for Shane Donohoe).

The nine-year-old son of Soviet Star finished second in a handicap at Leopardstown in June, but had been disappointing since, and was last seen finishing down the field at Dundalk on two separate occasions last month.

Sent off a 9/2 chance for this seven furlong contest, he was settled in rear before making headway on the outside over two furlongs out.

He was driven to challenge over a furlong from home, and he flashed past the post alongside 10/1 chance Lutine Charlie, with just a nose separating the duo at the line.
