Chancer Dancer opened her account in fine style when running out a wide margin winner of the first division of the Larrigy’s Pub Handicap Hurdle at Kilbeggan.

Conor Stone-Walsh was to the fore throughout on the Noel Kelly-trained filly and she kicked on from long-time leader Only One Plan before the last.

The 9/1 shot stayed on strongly in the closing stages to post an eight-and-a-half length success.

Stone-Walsh said:- “It was a good performance. The break probably helped her, she’s a small filly and probably didn’t take a whole lot to be ready.

“To be honest they weren’t very optimistic but they thought she was in good form and thankfully she did it well in the end.

“The lads said that they thought she’d keep going so I wasn’t afraid to let her bowl away where she was happy.

“She jumped well, a little mistake at one or two. A big thanks to the lads for letting me ride her and to Gary Cribben (agent) for getting me on.

“I thought she won well there, I wasn’t over-hard on her and she kept going the whole way to the line. Hopefully she can win again.”
