Deegan hoping for good night at Dundalk Paul Deegan is expecting a tight finish to the Ladbrokes Game On! Handicap at Dundalk on Friday evening. Several of the runners have met recently, with Deegan's Master Of Time winning once before finishing second a fortnight ago. "It's not a bad little race and looks a trappy affair," said Deegan. "The horse we beat (Political Party) has won since and the horse that beat us (Fight U For It) is in again. There probably won't be much between them. "Our lad is in good form." Deegan also holds strong claims with Papa's Way in the Ladbrokes.com Handicap. Having shown little on his first two runs, he then won twice in seven days in January. "The penny has dropped with him. He's learning his trade all the time and getting more professional," said Deegan. "We missed one race with him as he just wasn't 100 per cent, but he's back in great order and hopefully he'll take a bit of beating. "The trip and ground suits. He looks progressive and his work has been good." Prunella Dobbs runs Carried who has been in consistent form of late. "He's been very very consistent and we've been very proud of him. He's been running very well," said Dobbs. "We're hoping for another good run. It looks competitive as always. "These handicaps change around a lot as the horses go up for winning and are dropped also. They all keep meeting each other as they like the same distance and the track. "We're expecting a very good run from him and Pat Smullen is obviously a huge help also." Ballyadam Brook is a decent hurdler on his day for Terence O'Brien but finds himself back on the all-weather after winning his last race at Dundalk. "He has his good days and his bad days as he's had a fair few injuries. On a good day he's a decent horse," said O'Brien. "In Leopardstown last time, he didn't jump a hurdle and we were disappointed with the way he ran. Hopefully he's over that and he should probably run alright. "The handicapper probably gave him plenty of weight and I thought he was high enough, 82 for winning a maiden is big, but we'll let him take his chance. "His jumping has been letting him down so we'll stick to the Flat for a while and we'll see how he gets on in a handicap. He's in good form. "We'll probably wait until the summer ground before going jumping again, as he likes it quick. We'll look at some of the big handicaps during the summer. "We'll take it one day at a time with him and hopefully he stays sound."
