Royal & SunAlliance Chase favourite Denman will head to Newbury for his final run before the Cheltenham Festival.

Paul Nicholls' classy seven-year-old is set to line up in the toteplacepot Novices' Chase over three miles on February 10.

Denman is the general 3-1 market leader for the Festival showpiece after three eyecatching runs over fences since finishing second in the Royal & SunAlliance Hurdle at Prestbury Park last March.

'He next runs at Newbury on Aon Chase day and that will be it,' confirmed Nicholls.

'All being well, it will be straight to Cheltenham from there where we wouldn't want quick ground.

'Good to soft would be absolutely ideal.'
