Diamond success for Golan Golan came from last to first to record a remarkable and emotional victory in the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes at Ascot today.Having his first race for 244 days, Golan was held up in last place by Kieren Fallon as the pacemakers Sir Effendi and Narrative cut out the running at a good gallop.As the leaders weakened on the home turn, Zindabad took over chased by Nayef with the Sir Michael Stoute-trained Golan making good headway.Fallon made his effort a furlong out on the 11-2 shot, who carried the colours of Lord Weinstock who died this week, and after a protracted tussle with Nayef (7-1) got the better of that rival to land the #435,000 first prize by a head with Zindabad (11-2) three and a half lengths back in third.
