Dinoblue gets job done despite last-fence blunder Dinoblue gave odds-on punters a scare at the last before justifying her short price in the YellowFord & Drumlin John & Chich Fowler Memorial Irish EBF Mares Chase at Fairyhouse this afternoon. Mark Walsh made the running on the 1/4 shot in the Grade 3 feature and it looked set to be plain sailing when nearest pursuer Shecouldnbeanything came under pressure two from home. The Willie Mullins-trained hotpot, owned by J.P. McManus, was cruising down to the last but reached for the fence and paddled her way through. She soon recovered to post a seven-length win, the tenth success of her career. Assistant trainer David Casey said afterwards:- “She jumped great until the last, she just stood back a bit when the race was over. “Up to the last she was brilliant but she just came out of Mark’s hands. Mark had the race put to bed and she decided she’d make a bit of excitement! “You’d love loads more like her, she’s brilliant. She’s really consistent, even the days she gets beat she runs her race. “Hopefully she’ll go back and try and win the mares’ race (at Cheltenham) again. I’d imagine she’ll run somewhere in between, there is Leopardstown and the Opera Hat (at Naas).”
