Dirar US-bound

Last year's Ebor hero and dual Galway Hurdle third, Dirar will have his next few engagements Stateside as his trainer Gordon Elliott goes in search of rich-pickings with the fine money-spinner across the Atlantic.

Elliott explained: "Dirar is going for a race in Saratoga on Thursday week. There is a couple of other races there and he'll finish up probably in October in that big quarter of a million race.

"There is three jumps and maybe one flat race for him. He is going on Thursday.

"Some of the boys will go over and ride him. I'm not sure yet who'll ride him but one of the boys from Ireland will go over.

"I've been over there before probably three or four years ago. Salford City ran over there and Dirar will run in the same races that he went in.

"The prize-money is very good. There is a hundred grand race and the big race is worth quarter of a million."
