Donohoe in UK raid

Shane Donohoe launches a three pronged raid on the UK this weekend with the Co Cavan trainer having a runner at both Chester and Bath this afternoon, with another runner at Folkestone on Sunday.

Star Links will kick start the weekend for Donohoe, who tasted success on Wednesday evening last with Royal Intruder at Sligo.

This 5yo gelding runs in seventeen runner, seven furlong handicap at Chester at 4.45.

He has won three races already this season, two of which came at Wolverhampton earlier in the year with his last win coming at Naas at the beginning of this month.

He performed well on his last start at Leopardstown finishing just three lengths behind Seeharn, however this is a step up in class for him with last Sunday's impressive Dundalk winner Below Zero among the opposition.

Donohoe's second runner of the day comes in the last race on the card at Bath this evening with Jimmy Fortune taking the ride on The Bay Bandit.

This 4yo son of Highest Honor is very high in the handicap considering his form with his best run to date coming in a handicap on the all-weather at Wolverhampton in March.

Rum King is Donohoe's last raider of the weekend at Folkestone on Sunday where Sean Levey will take the ride.

This 4yo son of Montbrook was last seen finishing seven lengths sixth, behind his stablemate Royal Intruder at Sligo on Wednesday evening.

That run was in fact his first for Donohoe having been previously trained by Richard Hannon.

He managed to win two for Hannon back in 2009 but failed to build on that promise with his best effort of late coming over the course and distance back in April when just beaten by a neck into second.
