Claimed for E15,000 after finishing third at Dundalk last month, Dontspoilasale provided connections with an immediate return on their investment in the Download The New Tote App (Q.R) Handicap.

Previously in the care of Adrian McGuiness and now trained by Denis Hogan, the Kuroshio five-year-old was sent off a 15/2 chance under Adam Ryan.

Soon in a share of the lead, he gained an outright advantage with less than two-furlongs to go and while pressed on his inner by Clonmacash in the closing stages, he kept finding for pressure and ultimately came home half-a-length to the good.

The Adrian McGuinness-trained runner-up, a former stable companion of the winner, was returned at 3/1 under Oran McGill, while the slow starting Gordon Bennett (11/1) was three-and-a-half lengths back in third.

Bidding to make it three from three at the venue, Jered Maddox (5/2f) was another slow into stride and he eventually finished a disappointing ninth.

The market leader claimed this very contest 12-months ago, with the winner finishing fifth on that occasion.

"The boys (James McAuley and James Gough) are very good at it (claiming horses)," Hogan enthused.

"They are so sharp, they are sharks on form and upcoming races! They just don't miss anything, they are very good.

"They are placing them and they are a joy to train for - they do a lot of the work for me! I just have them healthy and fit on the day. They are always looking ahead, they don't just claim a horse in the dark.

"You could see the angle with the turf rating. To run off the turf rating here is unusual and, to me, it (beach) is an all-weather surface.

"Adam gave him a lovely ride and the 5lb (claim) was a big help.

"It is a good start for the boys. We have had two winners and a second since they started back."

STEWARDS REPORT

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Jered Maddox (GB), trained by David Marnane, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to have blood at the nostrils from an impact but to be otherwise post race normal.
