Pat Shanahan and Thistle Bloodstock Limited combined to record a double at Hamilton this evening.

The well-backed Wee Jock was their first winner in the Exsel Group Selling Handicap.

Having opened at 7/2 on-course, the son of Pour Moi eventually went off the well-backed 5/2 favourite under Royston Ffrench.

The bay three-year-old, who was having just his fifth start this evening, hit the front inside the final furlong, and kept on well to score by two and three parts of a length.

Thistle Bloodstock sponsored the fourth race on the card, the Maiden Stakes over a mile and one, and appropriately enough they claimed this contest with Set In Stone.

Previously placed at Gowran and Cork respectively, the daughter of Famous Name went off the 2/1 favourite, and she was settled behind the leaders by Tadhg O'Shea.

She was ridden out two furlongs out, and hit the front inside the final furlong, going on to score by half a length.

Shanahan and Thistle Bloodstock were also represented by United The Clans and Souls In The Wind at the Scottish venue, but neither of them could make a telling impact.
