Down Royal going update Following 15mm of rain, the ground at Down Royal is now soft, yielding to soft in places on the chase course. It is soft, soft to heavy in places on the hurdle/bumper course which will have fresh ground on the inner for Saturday's meeting. It's set to be mainly dry today and tomorrow, then turning wet on Saturday morning with the possibility of up to 6mm of rain prior to racing. For today's seven-race card at Thurles which gets under way at 1.05pm, it's yielding on the chase course and yielding to soft on the hurdle/bumper course following 8mm of rain yesterday. The forecast is for sunny spells and wintry showers today.
