Dubh's bro Mor in bid for compo

Vinnie Keane compared Realt Mor favourably with his full-brother Realt Dubh after the then four-year-old won a Tallow point-to-point in February 2009 and the Beneficial gelding bids to enhance his reputation at Kelso today.

Now competing in the famous colours of Northern Irish owner Mrs Pat Sloan, the Nicky Richards-trained gelding made his racecourse bow and his first appearance in over two years when starting a strongly fancied 5/4 favourite at Ayr last month.

In the hands of Galway native, Dougie Costello, Realt Mor travelled strongly and jumped brilliantly on that occasion but inexplicably he failed to get his landing gear out at the third last and crumpled over when looking a likely victor.

Today at 4.00 he goes in search of compensation in division one of the Duncan Sinclair Memorial Novices' Hurdle. Dominic Elsworth will be aboard Realt Mor now and his chief danger could be Rupert Lamb ridden by the very promising Kildare town native Paul Gallagher.
