Dundalk Stadium to host Winter Series Awards Day

Horse Racing Ireland (HRI) and Dundalk Stadium have announced that Dundalk Stadium will host a Winter Series Awards Day on Saturday April 4, 2020. The day will comprise of a seven race card with race values of twice the normal value for the grade. Balloting will be done on a points based system for horses that have run on the All-Weather from November 6, 2019 to March 20, 2020 with horses that have gained the most points receiving the greatest protection.

Also on the day, there will be presentations to the Winter Series’ leading rider and trainer, as well as the new AIRO supported awards for the winning most horse and the horse gaining the most points during the period.

Calculation of Points

Points for each horse that runs on the All-Weather at Dundalk from November 6, 2019 to March 20, 2020 will be calculated as follows:

Winner will receive 7 points, the second 5 points, the third 4 points, the fourth 3 points, the fifth 2 points and all other runners 1 point each.

In the case of a tie on points preference will be given to those horses with the highest rating.
