Rising Dust bagged back-to-back wins at Thurles with a game front-running performance in the Molony Cup Handicap Chase.

Donagh Meyler was to the fore throughout on the Emmet Mullins-trained gelding in the three-mile-one contest and the 5/2 favourite found plenty in the closing stages. Aclass threw down a strong challenge on the outer in the straight but Rising Dust had the advantage going to the last and stayed on stoutly to post an eight length success.

It was a fourth success in six outings for the Leading Light gelding since he joined Mullins.

"He jumped from fence to fence but Donagh said he was at the pin of his collar and said he had to jump that well to hold his position,” said Mullins.

“The race was on at just the right time as any more rain wouldn't have suited.

"He is enjoying his racing and the bit of nice ground is the biggest trick with him. It is great to get four wins with him although life will be a lot harder now. He could come back here again next."
