Elliott looking forward to Dirar run Gordon Elliott's Ebor winner Dirar takes a step up in class in the Doncaster Cup on Town Moor on Friday. The dual-purpose performer tuned up for that success by finishing third in the Galway Hurdle and will be having his first start in Pattern company since the 2008 Ballysax Stakes. "I'm looking forward to seeing how he gets on," said Elliott. "It is a step up but the horse is in good form. He came out of York very well, he's travelled over to Doncaster very well and we'll find an awful lot out about the horse. "It will open up a few doors because we'll find out first whether he is good enough and also if he stays that trip with next year's Cup races in mind. "We'll learn a good deal as far as going forward is concerned. If he's competitive in a good race like this it opens a lot up for next year. "He's not far behind them at all on the ratings and Jamie (Spencer) rang me to suggest we run him in this. "He's in very good form. He worked Wednesday morning and worked every bit as well as he did before York. "The ground drying up suits us and if he could run into a place we'll be thrilled."
