Elliott puts a line thro Tycoon disappointment Gordon Elliott is still puzzled by the below par performance of Tycoon Prince at Navan last Sunday but has not lost faith in the gelding. The son of Trans Island won three bumpers last term, and was sent off the 4/6 favourite for the At The Races 'For Auction' Novice Hurdle having made a successful hurdle debut at Punchestown. However the five-year-old could only managed a near seven-length third behind Three Stars and Thomas Hobson in the Grace 3 event, and Elliott reflected on the run in his latest BoyleSports blog. "It was obviously a bit disappointing, not a lot showed up at home. We'll give him an easy week or ten days to freshen him up but it's definitely disappointing, he never travelled like he can. We'll just have to put a line through it and look forward to the next race." He added, "For me, going across the top of the track it didn't look like he was happy. He's a much better horse than that. He's a good horse though the Royal Bond meeting could come a bit close now. But we have to move on from his performance on Sunday." The Co. Meath trainer also commented on the successful reappearance at Sandown last Sunday of Coneygree, who is obviously a major rival to his chase star Don Cossack. "Coneygree looked good on his return on Sunday; he was very good in the Gold Cup last year as a novice. It's hard to say how Don Cossack will do against him, it's hard to say you're confident - he's a Gold Cup winner and we're not."
