Ellison readies Galway team Our Kylie may have earned herself a trip to next week's Galway Festival after claiming a tenacious victory at Musselburgh. Twice a winner over hurdles at Carlisle and Market Rasen earlier in the year, the Brian Ellison-trained four-year-old was switched to the level at Newcastle last month and having run a solid race to finish third, she was the 3-1 market leader for her latest test in the Racing UK Now In HD! Handicap. It was not easy viewing for favourite-backers, with apprentice jockey Ben Robinson hard at work some way from home, but Our Kylie responded to his urgings and got up to beat the admirable veteran Merchant Of Dubai by a head. Ellison said: "The lad (Robinson) has given her a great ride - it was probably ride of the month and she was never really going. "She's a tough mare and I think she probably just wants further. "There is a mares' hurdle at Galway next week for her. We'll see how she comes out of it, but we might look at that if she seems OK." Ellison has enjoyed success at the popular Ballybrit meeting in the past, with Baraweez landing the last two renewals of the lucrative "Ahonoora" Handicap and that gelding is likely to head a small but select team of runners making the journey from North Yorkshire for this year's fixture. "Baraweez will go back. He's in good form and he likes the place," said the Norton-based trainer. "Top Notch Tonto will probably go for the same race and then there's this mare, so we'll have a few runners hopefully. The prize-money is very good."
