Emerald hoping to shine in Killavullan Paul Deegan is excited at the prospect of running Shining Emerald in the JRA Killavullan Stakes at Leopardstown on Saturday. The Curragh handler has targeted the Group Three contest over seven furlongs for the Jaber Abdullah-owned colt since he lifted the Listed Blenheim Stakes at his local track last month. "This has been the plan since he won the last time. He's in good form and it's all systems go," said Deegan. "We're very happy with him, Chris (Hayes) has ridden him a couple pieces of work and he's delighted with him. "He's going the right way, the rain has come which is good and conditions should be ideal for him. He goes there with a real live chance, hopefully, and will take a bit of beating."
