Entry comes from last to first under power-packed Lee ride Owned and bred by Joe and Marguerite Joyce, Royal Entry (9/4) got up close home in the Boylesports Irish EBF Ulster Oaks Fillies Handicap, coming from last to first under a power-packed Billy Lee ride. A notoriously slow starter, the Paddy Twomey-trained four-year-old was again sluggish away from the stalls today and raced in rear. Still last with two-furlongs to go, the Fracas chestnut soon made headway and found another gear when ridden inside the final 200 yards, ultimately getting the better of Lady Lunette (9/1) by half-a-length. The winner did drift left close home and slightly impeded the runner-up, but after a stewards enquiry, the result remained unaltered. There was a further length-and-three-quarters back to Sound Of Lightning in third, with this one returned the 13/8 favourite from early shows of 3/1. "She's a filly with a lot of ability. Most trips come alike to her and she has fundamental class," Twomey commented. "She gives away plenty of ground at the start, but she has the class to make it up. "I felt her run in His Majesty's Plate (fourth) the last day was a very good level of form comparative to this sort of race. I thought she was the one to beat." Reflecting on Royal Ascot, he added: "It was great to have a winner there, it was fantastic. All the horses ran well, so we had a good time." Lee, who rode two winners at Royal Ascot, was completing a double on the card, having earlier claimed the third aboard Letiza. STEWARDS REPORTS * The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Royal Entry, ridden by W.J. Lee, placed first, Lady Lunette, ridden by J. Kearney, placed second, and Sound Of Lightning (GB), ridden by W.M. Lordan, placed third, where it appeared interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. W.M. Lordan stated that his mount had ran its race and suffered little interference. J. Kearney stated that his mount slightly rolled to its left but he corrected her immediately. W.J. Lee stated that he kept a relatively straight line. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards made no alteration to the Judge’s placings and took no further action. * W.J. Lee, rider of Royal Entry, trained by P. Twomey, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount edged slightly right late on. * W.M. Lordan, rider of Sound Of Lightning (GB), trained by Donnacha Aidan O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got a little bit tight but there wasn't much in it.
