Fahey aims to be Triumphant in Saint-Cloud Donjuan Triumphant takes a shot at Group One company when he tackles the Criterium International at Saint-Cloud this afternoon. The Middleham Park Racing-owned two-year-old will be trying seven furlongs for the first time. After winning the Listed Rockingham Stakes on his penultimate start, the Richard Fahey-trained colt took his form to a new level with an emphatic five-and-a-half-length victory in the Group Two Criterium de Maisons-Laffitte. Middleham Park client relations manager Tom Palin said: "He won very impressively last time out. "The way he put five and a half lengths between himself and the field in the last furlong was impressive in anyone's eyes. "He did have a tendency to pull up on the line, but that was through him being a bit green and babyish. "It is fairly safe to say that we look like we have a good one to go to war with next year." Looking ahead to next season, Palin feels that at this stage a mile may just be beyond the son of Dream Ahead. He said: "You would have to question whether he would get a mile, but if the horse continues to learn to settle better then he may see out the trip. "We would probably look at a Guineas trial to start him next year. The Greenham may be the one as he likes it soft and is usually comes up softer at Newbury." There is a strong British representation in the Criterium International, with five of the eight runners based on this side of the English Channel. Tashweeq, trained by John Gosden, looked an exciting colt when landing a Listed race at Doncaster's St Leger meeting, but was only fourth to Air Force Blue in the Dewhurst Stakes at Newmarket. The Jo Hughes-trained No Education finished ninth in the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere at Longchamp, while Mick Channon's Scrutineer and Ed Walker's Stormy Antarctic are in good form. The sole Irish raider is Johannes Vermeer, who makes a quick reappearance for Aidan O'Brien after having finished second to Marcel in the Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster. Jean Claude-Rouget's unbeaten colt Almanzor and Attendu, from Carlos Laffon-Parias' stable, are the two home runners. Harry Dunlop's Robin Of Navan bids to continue his progressive ways in the Group One Criterium de Saint-Cloud over a mile and a quarter. The American Post colt has lifted Listed and Group Three contests at Deauville and Chantilly respectively in the style of a two-year-old on the upgrade. Brian Meehan's Ocean Jive and the Andrew Balding-trained Ormito are other British challengers, with O'Brien sending over Idaho, who made a winning debut in a Curragh maiden earlier this month. Among the opposition in a 10-runner field are Andreas Wohler's Cologne Group Three winner Isfahan, David Smaga's Millfield and Andre Fabre's Cloth of Stars, who was third to Robin Of Navan at Chantilly. Middleham Park were hoping to run Ventura Storm but he was found to be lame on Friday morning and will now be switched to a race in Rome. Palin tweeted: "Unfortunately Ventura Storm won't be heading to France. We hope to get him right for a Group Three over in Rome."
