Royal Ascot heroine Jennies Jewel is enjoying a mid-season break with the aim of returning for the Prix du Cadran or the Betfred Cesarewitch.

She may be getting on in years at the age of nine, but Jarlath Fahey has her in the form of her life judged on three wins from her last four outings.

Her only defeat during that spell came over hurdles in Grade One company and she made all the running in the Ascot Stakes for a popular success.

Fahey said: "She's going on a four to six week break.

"We'll then possibly bring her back for the Prix du Cadran or the Cesarewtich, as usual it will depend on the ground being soft enough.

"Her owner, Andrew McIntyre, has recently graduated from Enniskillen College having done an Equine Management course and he's going to America for a few months, so at least he won't miss her running.

"She's a star and I hope there's more good days to come."
