Fairy ready for Hong Kong Cup

Snow Fairy is back in top shape as she attempts to cap an already outstanding season in Sunday's Cathay Pacific Hong Kong Cup.

A long year does not seem to have taken an effect on Ed Dunlop's filly, already a winner of the English and Irish Oaks before bursting clear in the Queen Elizabeth II Commemorative Cup in Japan last month.

She arrived in the former colony last week and Dunlop's travelling head lad Robin Trevor-Jones could not be happier with her current condition.

He said: "Snow Fairy did lose a bit of weight on the box trip from Kyoto to Tokyo after the Queen Elizabeth II Commemorative Cup but she is absolutely spot-on again now and we are really happy with her."

There are a whole host of European raiders for the final serious international meeting of 2010 including Paco Boy, who is to race for the last time in the Mile.

A tremendous servant for Richard Hannon, he was announced as a late contender after his honourable fourth to Goldikova at the Breeders' Cup.

Paco Boy went through his paces at Sha Tin under his regular work rider Elvis Singh, with travelling head lad Tony Gorman reporting: "He is really well, in super form. I'm confident if he runs the race he did in America he will take some beating.

"This track should be better for him than Churchill Downs. He has one hell of a turn of foot as he showed in America but couldn't make up the ground in the short straight there."

Other British runners at the meeting having a leg-stretch were Sri Putra and Dream Eater, who both pleased connections.

There is a particularly strong French team this time, including the Melbourne Cup winner Americain, as well as Vision d'Etat, Planteur, Board Meeting, Stacelita and Sahpresa.
