Fairyhouse aim for Gerdago Ken Condon is looking to run Gerdago in graded company at Fairyhouse's three-day Easter meeting. The County Kildare trainer was delighted with the five-year-old's effort in finishing third to Dedigout in the Boyne Hurdle at Navan on Sunday and wants to keep him at that level before going over fences next term. "He has come out of the race well, he has ate up well and is sound. Going into the race he was a long way off what was required in terms of ratings," he said. "He won his maiden hurdle at Navan and he ran well there on the Flat so it is probably a track that suits him. "His jumping was good and I think he will be a nice horse to go over fences with next season. We resisted the temptation to go over them this season. With another summer under his belt I'd say he could be a useful horse over fences. "He won't go to Cheltenham this year, he will probably go to Fairyhouse instead. We might try him again in graded company there. "It would be nice to win another race with him as he has only won the once. If we find a conditions race along the way he might go for that. "Three miles would be well within his comfort zone and he is just appreciating the step up in trip now. When he goes over fences I'd say the minimum he will go is two and a half."
