Fallon's dog wins Irish Champion Stakes After landing the £50,000 Sky Bet Dash Handicap at York this afternoon aboard Hoof It, Kieran Fallon had even more reason to be happy this evening as the greyhound he part owns, Uncle Eoin, took the valuable townviewfoods.com Irish Champion Stakes Final at Shelbourne Park tonight. After impressively winning his semi-final by seven lengths last Saturday night in a time of 29.93, the son of Droopys Vieri was even faster tonight, beating the joint favourite at 2/1 and English Derby Final fifth, Razldazl Jayfkay by a length, in a time of 29.81. The James Robinson, who also part owns him, trained winner was returned at 6/1. It looked like the runner-up had the race won as he passed Uncle Eoin, who led for most of the race, near the turn-in, but the winner produced a fantastic late bust to get in the final strides. Fallon was present to collect the winners cheque for €20,000 and the winning greyhound will now head for the Irish Derby. Donal Murphy
