John Feane is hoping the ground turns up fast as he prepares to pitch Ano Syra into the Group 1 Flying Five Stakes at the Curragh on Sunday.

The Kodiac filly has been a wonderful servant for connections, graduating from handicap company to finishing placed in stakes races four times this season.

Her best effort came when third to Art Power in the Group 2 Greenland Stakes at the Curragh back in late May.

Feane admits Sunday's race is a tough task but is hoping ground conditions might give her a chance of bagging some more valuable black-type:-

“It’s a big ask but she’s Group 2, Group 3 and Listed placed. You never know she might nick a place.

“She loves fast ground, if it was firm ground I’d run her on it. They are going to water it so it will probably be still only good. It might go to good to firm which will suit her.

“There is a Group 3 in Dundalk that she might go for after that and it’s possible that she could go to Dubai over the winter.”
