The final two races at Bellewstown this afternoon have been abandoned due to deteriorating ground conditions.

Racing returns to the Co Meath venue tomorrow afternoon, but is subject to a 7.30am inspection.

Clerk of the course Lorcan Wyer said: "Unfortunately, due to the volume of rain we had here today since 11:30am, as racing went on the track deteriorated to a point where we felt it was unfit for racing after Race 5.

"The current forecast from Met Eireann is for a mainly dry and windy night tonight but there is a possibility of a further 3-4mm of rain around the Bellewstown area later on Thursday afternoon. In light of the current forecast we will have a 7:30am inspection to determine the prospects of racing tomorrow."
