Final Voyage brought up his eighth career success, and first over an extended 10-furlongs, in the Sign Up To Our Newsletter Handicap in Cork.

He gave Johnny Murtagh a double on the card after the earlier success of Tashakour (5/4f).

Jessica Maye 's mount made good headway into second half a mile out behind Calm The Jets who had raced keenly to the front.

Final Voyage led over three furlongs from home and was certainly there to be challenged by a host of rivals, but he kept rolling home and despite late thrusts from Iron Fist and Coeur D'or he kept them at bay.

The winner was returned at 10/1 and was half a length up on Iron Fist at 11/2. Coeur D'or was the same distance away in third at 11/1.

Murtagh said: "That's Jessica's first win for me, she joined me this year and it is great to have her on the team. She is great in the mornings, loves her horses and this lad (Final Voyage) is a pet in the yard, so the apprentices get a go on him.

"I always tell the lads riding him to 'drop him in, don't come too soon' and, before today, he had also never won on the grass!

"He is a lead horse at home and if we have one to get by him, they usually run well. He also pays his way and I'm delighted to get Jessica a winner. She does three-days-a-week with us."
