Flashy Fine After Expensive Defeat

Connections of Flashy Wings will 'give it a few days' before deciding whether the Zafonic filly will go for the Sky Bet Cheveley Park Stakes on September 29.

Mick Channon´s dual Group Two winner lost her unbeaten record at Newbury after Expensive sprinted up the stands rail to score by a neck in the Watership Down Stud Sales Race.

Joe Mercer, racing manager to Flashy Wings´ owner Jaber Abdullah, confirmed the two-year-old is in good order after her exertions at the Berkshire venue.

However, Channon is not likely to make a decision about her participation in the Group One contest at Newmarket until later in the week.

'She´s back in her box and has come out of the race really well as far as I know,' said Mercer.

'It was just one of those things and I thought she put up a fantastic display even though she lost.

'She likes to hit the front late but there was nothing to go at at the front - it was unfortunate but she´s fine.

'The Cheveley is in mind but there is nothing certain yet.

'We will give it a few days and see how she is later in the week before deciding what to do with her.'
