Johnny Murtagh has sent out the winners of four races since Flat racing in Ireland resumed after the Punchestown festival, including the Listed Polonia Stakes at Cork with French import Royal Bay Cen and a premier handicap at Naas on Saturday with Chicago Pope.

One of the Curragh trainer's string who ran below-par in recent days was Floresta, who trailed in last of 10 in the Vintage Tipple Stakes at Gowran Park last Wednesday.

Newtown Anner Stud's daughter of Waldgeist, winner of the Vinnie Roe Stakes at Leopardstown last summer and fifth in the Group 2 Park Hill Stakes at Doncaster, drifted from 7/4 in the morning to a starting price of 9/2 and turned in a lifeless display.

"She was disappointing, one of a few horses that have run disappointing so far this year," admitted Murtagh.

“It was her first run of the year but I thought I had her fit enough and thought it was the perfect race for her.

“It was disappointing on the day.”

Having held an entry for Friday's Saval Beg Levmoss Stakes at Leopardstown, Murtagh took her out at today's five-day stage.

He added "We’re going to leave her for a bit and see if anything comes to light, nothing has come to light yet.”
