Florida favourite with Cashmans

Florida Pearl has been installed as ante-post favourite for next Sunday's Hennessy Cognac Gold Cup at Leopardstown.

Cashmans make Willie Mullins' King George VI Chase winner their 7/4 market leader with Behrajan, trained by Henry Daly, next best at 100/30. Alexander Banquet, runner-up to stable companion Florida Pearl in the race last year, is a 4/1 chance.

Eight horses remain in the ?160,000 event and the full list of early betting is; 7/4 Florida Pearl, 100/30 Behrajan, 4 Alexander Banquet and Rince Ri, 11/2 Sackville and 18 Lyreen Wonder.

Cashmans leave both Looks Like Trouble and Commanche Court out of their initial list.

The Cork firm sponsor the opening Cashmans Bookmakers Juvenile 4-Y-O Hurdle and not surprisingly make Turtleback a warm favourite.

Now in training with Edward O'Grady, he is a 13/8 chance to make a winning debut in the colours of Dermot Desmond, followed in the betting at 3/1 by Ted Walsh's newcomer Monitoring.

Cashmans bet; 13/8 Turtleback, 3 Monitoring, 5 Newhall, 8 Scolardy, 12 Pasteur, 14 Crusset, 16 Swordplay and 25 bar.
