Flying Five aim for Take Cover Take Cover is likely to seek atonement in Ireland next month after his faux pas before the Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes at York on Friday. The eight-year-old sprinter caused a lengthy delay to the Group One on the Knavesmire after he wriggled beneath his starting gate and ploughed a lone furrow along the track. Take Cover was subsequently withdrawn, but trainer David Griffiths said his inmate was sound upon his return to his South Yorkshire stables. Ground permitting, the gelded son of Singspiel will now be aimed at the Group Two Derrinstown Stud Flying Five Stakes at the Curragh on September 13, with the Prix de l'Abbaye on Arc weekend at Longchamp the conditional goal. Griffiths said: "It was a bit shocking what happened at York, but he's come back fine. "It was just a really disappointing day as he was bouncing, well and happy before the race. "He's had a canter this week and that went well, so the Curragh and the Abbaye will be his two targets. "As always with him, though, we'll be hoping they don't get too much more rain."
