Folkestone off as England suffers This afternoon's English meeting at Folkestone has been abandoned due to waterlogging. Clerk of the course Neil MacKenzie Ross was due to inspect at 8am but an early look around the Kent venue showed the track to be unraceable. He said: "We had 20 millimetres of rain overnight and it is still raining now. "When I walked round the track I found two great lakes of water so unfortunately we have had to abandon." Wednesday's meeting at Leicester has been abandoned due to snow and waterlogging while Musselburgh will stage a further inspection at 3pm after a morning check proved inconclusive. Saturday's meeting at Wincanton is already under threat after heavy overnight rain at the track. Clerk of the course Barry Johnson will take a look at 11am on Wednesday ahead of the meeting which is due to feature the Kingwell Hurdle. Ascot's card on Saturday which is set to feature the Grade One Betfair Ascot Chase, is under severe threat from rain and frost. The going at Ascot is currently 'heavy, waterlogged in places,' but despite this, it might not be standing water which is the main problem come Saturday.
