Fowler records first winner in Perth Lorna Fowler, daughter of retired trainer Sue Bradburne and brother of former jockey Mark Bradburne, recorded her first training success at Perth this evening. Fowler, who trains in Summerhill, Co Meath, took over the yard when her mother-in-law, Lady Jane Fowler, passed away earlier this year. Jumbo John is the horse who got her off the mark, as he took the Strathbraan Brewery Maiden Hurdle (For The Alan Normile Memorial Trophy), under Wilson Renwick. The son of Presenting opened on track at 9/2 before being backed into 7/2 at the off. He hit the front at the last and he kept on well on the run-in to hold off Mandarin Sunset (18/1) by a head. The seven-year-old winner finished a decent fifth on his last start at Navan behind Hazariban and he was running in handicap company for the third time this evening.
