Newmarket are to open a dedicated 'Frankel Room' at the Rowley Mile racecourse to celebrate the horse's remarkable achievements.

The Frankel Room will tell the amazing story of the career of the Khalid Abdulla-owned colt, who famously won all 14 of his races.

As well as stunning images and detail about Frankel's achievements, all the key people in the story will be profiled. Also on display will be exclusive memorabilia from his career.

The Frankel Room will officially open on Saturday, September 28. That day sees the staging of the Group Two Juddmonte Royal Lodge Stakes, a race that Frankel won by 10 lengths in 2010.

The Frankel Room will take the place of what was the Paddock Bar, located next to the weighing-room. It is currently being redesigned with London-based brand and design agency Harrison Fraser commissioned with the project.

Amy Starkey, regional director (East) for the Jockey Club, said: "Newmarket Racecourses feels a special affinity towards Frankel - his first race was on the July Course and he went on to win both the Dubai Dewhurst Stakes and the QIPCO 2000 Guineas, the latter in truly memorable style.

"For that reason, and also that he enjoyed several pre-race gallops on the Rowley Mile racecourse, we wanted to celebrate his career in a suitably memorable manner.

"We have thought long and hard about what we can do and the idea of a Frankel Room - an exhibition of his brilliance and the people around him - had an enduring appeal.

"We are really excited about the project and can't wait to officially launch the Frankel Room on September 28, a fitting date, as Juddmonte Farms sponsor with us on that day.

"We have met with Juddmonte and shared with them our idea for the Frankel Room and they were very supportive, for which we are very grateful."
