Harry Fry is heading for the Galway festival with Wednesday's Kempton winner Winterwatch.

A dual winner last year for Andrew Balding, the German-bred four-year-old scored over two miles on the all-weather circuit and Fry has the amateur handicap on the opening night at Ballybrit in his sights.

"We bought him out of Andrew Balding's on his recommendation," said Fry.

"He didn't take to hurdling quite as well as we hoped although there was an improvement the last day. We've done his wind since and this, we were hoping, would tee him up for a trip to Galway.

"That's hopefully where we go for the valuable amateur flat staying race on the opening day.

"The new Mrs Madden who is a sister-in-law will no doubt be putting her name in the hat! We've been lucky enough to finish third in the race a couple of times with Aine (O'Connor) riding for us. We are keen to go back and try and win the race."
