The Joseph O'Brien trained Galileo Sand recorded a second course and distance success when battling on bravely under Patrick Mullins to land the concluding Killarney Glamping (Pro/Am) INH Flat Race.

A winner here at the July meeting, the four-year-old had finished runner-up at the same track on his previous start.

Building up a big early lead under Mullins, the 6/4f was upwards of 10-lengths clear at halfway. However, Mullins appeared to be sending out distress signals early in the the straight as That Danny Feeling closed right up.

The latter threw down a strong challenge from over two-furlongs out but could never quite get to the eventual winner who found plenty for pressure to prevail by two-lengths.

Patrick Mullins said: "The cheek-pieces made him much more forward going.

"I had my stick in my left hand as we cutting in-and-out (looking for better ground on the inner) but going around the bend past the stands, he went back to where we were at the start. We lost a good bit of ground there and only for that, he'd have won under just hands and heels.

"He is fit, tough and stays well and is a nice horse who they'll have a lot of fun with. He likes good ground and I'd imagine he can go up in trip no problem."

He added "I don't know how I got Ethical Diamond beaten in a Scottish Champion Hurdle but you often see that with our horses when they have a winter's jump training under their belts, they are better for it. He didn't have that last year and he also learned how to settle over jumps. It was a fantastic performance."
