< Ballyegan Hero just got the better of Only Mine in a thrilling finish to the Galway Shopping Centre Handicap Hurdle at Galway.

John Joe Walsh's 16-1 chance was driven into the lead at the last by Rachael Blackmore and set sail for home, but Only Mine finished with a real flourish and it took a photograph to separate them, with Ballyegan Hero getting the verdict by a nose.

Dermot Weld ended a long wait for a first winner of the week when Aydoun landed the O'Leary Insurances Maiden Hurdle.

Weld had been uncharacteristically out of luck in the first five days of the Festival, but his 13-2 chance travelled superbly for Bryan Cooper, before picking off favourite Big Ben and striding to a six-length success.

Aidan O'Brien's Amadeo Mogliani (2-9 favourite) confirmed the promise of his debut third when easing to victory in the Galway Shopping Centre Irish EBF Maiden.

Weld's Crecerelle led the way for much of the race and saw off all bar the winner, who quickened away nicely for Seamie Heffernan before easing to a five and a half-length success.< Deep Breath got up late to land the Galway Shopping Centre Irish EBF Nursery Handicap.

Joseph Murphy's 3-1 chance had both Mount Wellington and Sebastiano Ricci ahead of him entering the final furlong, but he responded well to Pat Smullen's urgings to beat the former by a neck.< Bubbly Bellini just held on to land the Ardilaun Hotel Handicap.

Colin Keane got the call on the 20-1 chance, striking for home over a furlong out, and though Avalanche produced a strong late run up the inner, Ado McGuinness' charge held on by a head.

Wayne Lordan may have missed out on Avalanche, but he made no mistake in the Terry Cunningham Memorial Handicap when guiding Athenry Boy (20-1) home for Jim Gorman.

Willie Mullins signed off day six with another winner as his son Patrick eased True Self (4-7 favourite) to victory in the Galway Shopping Centre EBF Mares Flat Race.
