Galway Hurdle a long term target for Cody's Razoul Ray Cody is planning a spring, summer campaign for his stable star Razoul, with the Galway Hurdle a long term aim. Having provided the Co Kilkenny handler with his first winner at Kilbeggan in July, the Ballygallon Stud owned gelding went on to claim the valuable Liam Healy Memorial Lartigue Hurdle at Listowel. Beaten by just parts of a length in a Grade 3 at Tipperary on his next start, the bay four-year-old since disappointed at Galway in late October. "He went home for a good break after he ran in Galway," Cody revealed. "The plan for him is that he probably won't come back in until February. He'll be a spring, summer horse and the Galway Hurdle is probably a race we have in the back of our minds with him. I don't know if Galway will be his track though, he might be better on a flatter track. "He might be back in time for Punchestown or I might give him a run on the Flat as he is very well handicapped. "He is only rated 54 on the Flat and we were probably running him over the wrong trip. He is probably a horse that wants at least a mile and a half. There will be plenty of fun to be had with him on the Flat. We'll see, he is a nice horse." Cody, who has four winners to date from a relatively small number of runners, went on to discuss plans for Lady Olenna and Guinevere, with the former a winner of a maiden at Gowran in July. "Lady Olenna is another one to look forward to. She went on a long break after her last run and she might end up getting blacktype. "She ran in a Listed race on her last start but it was soft ground and she is a summer mare that wants nice ground. She'll make a lovely four-year-old. "Guinevere is the only juvenile hurdler I have. She is after having three runs over hurdles now and her jumping just isn't good enough at present. She will probably be a fun handicap hurdler though getting the allowances. "I don't have many in training, I've a small yard and I'm only tipping away. I have a few to turn three that should be alright. "I have a nice filly of my own call Nudge The Judge. She is one to look out for. She had three runs in maidens against good horses and is only rated 55. She is a very well-bred filly and I think she'll improve."
