Genelardais In Top Form

Coral Welsh National winner Halcon Genelardais has recovered well from his epic victory at Chepstow last week and has a variety of options awaiting him this year.

Alan King had targeted the marathon race months in advance and his foresight paid off as the seven-year-old bounded away for a four-length success.

King's assistant Noel Williams said: 'He has come out of the race really well and there is a choice of races for him. We know he is not going to be an Aintree horse this year, but there are races like the Midlands National.

'He will also have an entry in the Cheltenham Gold Cup. We will have to see how he gets on, but especially if the ground came up soft, it would be a thought.'
