Geraghty To Return In A Week Barry Geraghty, who initially thought he would be on the sidelines for several weeks after breaking the outside bone of his left hand at Punchestown last Friday, may be able to return to the saddle in a week’s time.He injured himself on what was his second ride back after breaking his right thumb in a fall from Brutto Facie in a maiden hurdle at Gowran Park four weeks ago.Geraghty said over the weekend: “The doctors thought the bone had been displaced and that it would have to be wired which would mean several weeks out of action.“Fortunately the x-rays showed that the bone was only cracked. I have it strapped up but that’s all and I may only be out for a week.“I still don’t know exactly what caused the crack. I rolled well clear and I don’t think I was kicked. Maybe it happened when I hit the ground.”
