Glen glides to easy success Glen Kiln landed the odds in fine style in the William Hill Hurdle at Punchestown to gain compensation for his agonising fall last time. The Harry Kelly-trained gelding had crashed out at the last with the race at his mercy in a Grade 3 event at Tipperary nine days ago. He went to post a 4/7 shot today and made every post a winning one under Brian Hayes. The Michael Bowe-owned gelding was in control before the last flight and popped that hurdle for a cosy three-and-a-half lengths success over Busselton. Kelly said:- “He was very unlucky the last day but horse and rider were okay and that was the number one thing. “The lads (Michael Bowe and brother John) had spotted this race. It was only nine days later but we said he was fresh and well so we’d take the chance and he did what he had to do today. “He’s a good horse and he’ll be entered in all the good races now. “That breed improves with age, the lads have been saying that from the start. We’re very happy with him and very happy to have him. “Nearly every day he goes racing he gets best turned out, he’s that good-looking a horse. “He’ll probably get an entry in the Hatton’s Grace and go from there. That’s what the lads are thinking. They’ve been there before, I haven’t.”
